Join the Austin-Saltillo Sister Cities Association and Mexic-Arte Museum on Friday, November 9 from 6-9pm for a special reception and presentation of "50 Years of Friendship and Memories". The book chronicles the past five decades of friendship, respect, and mutual exchange between Sister Cities Austin, Texas and Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. There will be complementary beverages and antojitos.
While in attendance, visitors will have the opportunity to view Mexic-Arte Museum's current exhition "Danzas Matlachines: Tesoros y Patrimonio Cultural - Las Tradiciónes Continúan", organized in conjunction with the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Austin-Saltillo Sister Cities collaborative relationship established in 1968. The exhibition examines the Matachine dance traditions from the state of Coahuila in northern Mexico and highlights the continuing cultural practice in Austin, Texas.
